~American Patriot’s 2011 Thanksgiving Proclamation
George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:" Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.

American Patriot’s 2011 Thanksgiving Proclamation
Whereas it is the duty of every red-blooded American Patriot to acknowledge the Hand of Almighty God in guiding this country’s Founding Fathers. Righteous men who recognized with grateful hearts, the Divine grace which was given to this country as it was formed. This Land was granted unto our Forefathers as a Land of Promise, to be a Land of Religious Freedom. That it’s people may be able to worship, who, what or how they may, without persecution.
Whereas… by unanimous consent, both Houses of Congress should grant its citizens the same religious freedom as was granted to our predecessors and become once again, “United” in acknowledging Almighty God. That censorship of His name cease among our individual States. That… the only laws that should be enacted, be those that protect the Citizens of this Country from those that will use the law, and system of Government for personal gain. That, those laws continue to acknowledge God’s hand in our lives, and that we may always remember by whose power and Grace we remain FREE.
Now, therefore, I do recommend that we as Patriot’s hold ourselves accountable to God Himself. That our actions and our votes will be for the good of the Country, and that we govern our lives in a manner that will be Pleasing unto our Benefactor that blessed us with this Land of Inheritance for religious freedom and liberty. We shall watch and clean those from office, by the power of our collective votes; all those that seek to abuse their office. We shall stand firm in our resolve to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. We shall remove them from office, without pay or severance, when the public trust which they had been granted is broken.
Let us return back to a Government of Wise, Just and Honest Citizens that will be a blessing upon all those that have elected them to office. Let the Shout be heard across this Country that “WE THE PEOPLE” have a voice and will be heard. The Silent Majority shall rise up with such a cry for justice that God will hear from the Heavens. I for one will demand Justice, Resolve to do what is Right, and acknowledgement of Our Creator, as well as, the willingness to follow HIS laws in governing their actions by ANY public official. Let God know that WE have not forsaken HIM, lest He forsake us for being ungrateful.
HE alone, knows what is best and I trust in His judgments in my actions and desire to follow His lead, He wishes us to be happy and enjoy life. As our First President stated…so shall I, “He alone, knows what is best”…
Let us all have, “Thanks in Giving” and remember from where we came, how we got here, and where we desire to end up.

I was thinking about what Thanksgiving was really about last night and came across George Washington's Proclamation...it was the 1st Official Presidential Proclamation issued in the United States. It is sad how far we have fallen from recognizing the divine power that formed this country and giving thanks where gratitude is due. Let us go back to our roots and divine heritage.
