~Tis a Hard Thing.
O ye Elders of the Church, why do ye say, “Tis a hard thing you ask of us.”
How is it that you’ve forgotten the mercy’s of the Lord in leading our fathers to this Land of Promise? They were persecuted for worshipping God our Almighty Father.
They sold all they had to board ships that brought them across the many waters. His loving hand helped them survive their first winter in a strange land.
His word was fulfilled in driving the wicked from before them. Thus we see how the Lord blesses the Righteous and destroys the unrepentant while fulfilling Ancient Covenants.
…all done according to his will and in his own time.
He sent Legions of Angels to assist and protect our Nations Founding Fathers when the country they fled sought their destruction.
Wo unto the Elders of Israel when they so quickly forget the countless times that the Lord has spared their fathers from countless persecutions.
“Tis a Hard Thing you have asked of us?”
Ye have NOT had to leave everything to sail into the unknown.
Ye have NOT had to leave your homes in the middle of the night to escape the mobs.
Ye have NOT been asked to sacrifice to build Temples unto the Most High and then leave them to walk across the Great Plains.
Can you see how the Lord has loved and preserved his children when the love of his children was returned unto him?
Ye claim a Noble Birthright and are puffed up in pride due to your pioneer heritage. Yet ye have only burnt a finger in the fires that cleansed their vessels.
Wo unto ye Elders of Israel who murmur, are idle, and hide in the shadows of the Church.
Our Redeemer stands at the door, prepared to enter and the days of your probation are past. All his creations shall rejoice at his coming and you will no longer be able to suckle on the accomplishments of others.
Ye have NOT been given more than you can bear.
Ye have NOT had to build a ship.
Ye have NOT had to give up any earthly possessions.
Ye have NOT been asked to serve more than 2 year missions, unlike our fathers who commonly served 5-10 year missions.
…Ye have only been asked to take his message to a few families within a few miles of where you live, once a month.
Tis Really a Hard Thing He has asked of us?

I decided to post this today, since yesterday was a day to clean the Church building and only three people showed up out of 17 assigned. I find it sad to see that we as a people do not place the Lord first in our weekend schedule, but will still show up for Church the next day thinking..."All is well in Zion".
