Mother of Mine
To the wonderful woman who gave me life.
Who taught me to love, through hardship and strife.
The lessons I have learned when so young.
Have molded my life in the song I’ve sung.
I remember all we’ve shared, the times both happy and sad.
I watched how you treated others and seldom got mad.
A better mother I don’t think I will ever find.
You helped mold my character, my soul and my mind.
You’ve worked hard all your life and still do to this day.
You inspire the battery bunny, what more need I say?
To each and every one of us you’ve given all that you are.
In the darkest dark of night, you are a bright and shining star.
You love us and protect us, as you constantly give.
You taught us how to care for others, and how to really live.
You will, and forever more, be the example I will use.
Though I’ll try my whole life, I’ll never fill your shoes.
We all have been given much, and have learned so much to share.
You always are compassionate, even when life’s not fair.
Give me a choice and I’ll take the choice is what you always say.
You keep on keeping on, and I marvel each and every day.
It matters not what each day brings you get up and endure.
I will always be your biggest fan of this much I am sure.
You have taught me by your actions as no words ever can.
How to live my life and how to be, on the right side I will stand.
When you finally find some peace, and rest when the day is won.
I will and forever more, am proud at what you’ve done.
Love,
Your Loving Child.
